RECIDEP, the Citizens’ Network for the Development of Paillant, has brought together the citizens of the commune since 2009 around a single commitment: improving, step by step, the living conditions of the people of Paillant.
Who we are
An organization born from the community
RECIDEP is a non-profit association founded in July 2009 in Paillant, in the Nippes department of Haiti. Born from the will of the residents themselves, it began by responding to an essential need: access to water for the population of the town center. Since then, its work has expanded to education, community health, culture, sports, and the improvement of living conditions.
What makes RECIDEP strong is its roots: an organization from Paillant, led by the people of Paillant, in the service of Paillant.
Our areas of work
Five fronts, one commitment
Access to water
Water distribution to the population and maintenance of hydraulic equipment.
Education and culture
School competitions, distribution of school supplies, community library.
Community health
Awareness campaigns and training sessions, particularly in dental health.
Social life and solidarity
Tributes to senior citizens, community activities, Mother’s Day celebrations.
Local development
Support for infrastructure, improvement of the electrical grid, construction of community spaces.
Concrete achievements
Since its creation, RECIDEP has carried out visible and lasting work: the opening of the Paillant library in February 2018, dental health training sessions attended by more than one hundred participants, the construction of a community market shelter in Mussotte, football championships, spelling, mathematics, and Creole competitions, as well as celebrations dedicated to the elderly of the commune.
Every achievement is the fruit of the members’ work, the support of the organization’s friends, and the trust of the population.
